Lake Geneva is looking perfect this morning.
Castles appear out of nowhere – very Hans Christian Anderson like!
We’re back walking in canal territory. This one runs from Villeneuve to Aigle.
Our lunch stop was in the sunshine – not much else is needed except bread, cheese, water and a log to sit on – perfect!
We walked mostly on hard surfaces along the levy bank beside the Rhone River. T’was very tiring on our feet.
Occasionally we found some puddles and mud too.
And a few snow capped mountains.
We at last reached St. Maurice village.
We’ve arrived after a very long day walking on mostly hard surfaces resulting in very sore feet – and 2 small blisters!
We’re starting the slow climb now up to the pass. The next few days we’ll do some significant climbing.
